• In 2004, I traveled to Tokyo for an exhibition of my work. Within the first day, I fell in love with the city; the ritual of daily life, the attention to form, the celebration of detail and the fascination with technology and progress all resonate with my thoughts about design and culture. A city that is both ultra modern and ancient at the same time Tokyo is different from the west, yet somehow very welcoming. Tokyo will be a wonderful host to the world during the Olympic Games and I look forward to attending.
